In today’s hectic world pilgrimages are experiencing a renaissance. The reason why people decide to embark on such a journey is not always a religious one. Nowadays the search for peace within and the longing for the energy to cope with the stress and strains of modern day life is the often the motive.
One stage of Europe’s most famous pilgrimage, the Jakob’s Way ending in Santiago de Compostela in Spain, also goes through Salzburg County and Bavaria.
